Terms of Use

Last updated July 29, 2026. By entering or using TriValley Girls Porch Shop you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who may use the shop

The shop is for current high school students in grades 9 through 12 who are at least 13 years old and have permission from a parent or guardian to use this site and arrange local exchanges. By using the site you confirm all of that is true for you. Adults may contact us about sponsorships or questions through the Contact Us page, but the marketplace itself, posting, and inquiries are for students only.

What the shop is (and is not)

TriValley Girls Porch Shop is strictly a community bulletin board: a place for local students to post what they want to sell to other local students. Our admin team reviews submissions before they appear to keep the community appropriate, but we do not verify the accuracy of any listing, inspect items, set or endorse prices, or supervise what happens after something is posted. What is posted, and the price asked, is each seller's own choice.

We are not a store, a broker, a payment service, a ticket agent, or an employer, and we are not a party to any sale. We do not process payments, hold money, or ship items. How buyers and sellers coordinate a sale, payment, and exchange is entirely between them and their families, and we take no responsibility for those arrangements. The shop has no return, refund, or exchange system: every sale is final between the buyer and seller unless the two of them agree otherwise. As the shop grows we may allow other kinds of listings, such as room decor, event tickets, or student services; these terms apply to all of them, and our role stays the same.

Listing rules

Sellers must own what they list and describe it honestly, including its true condition. Items must be clean and appropriate for a high school community. Photos must show the item on a hanger or flat surface, with no faces or bodies. Never list anything illegal, counterfeit, recalled, unsafe, or age restricted. The admin team may approve, hold, edit requests for, reject, or remove any listing at its discretion, and listings expire automatically after 7 days.

Being safe and respectful

Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated at school. Before responding to anyone new, review their profile and your mutual connections. Tell a parent or guardian about meetups, meet in public places during the day, and bring someone with you. Inspect an item before paying. Sending an inquiry does not reserve an item, and a seller choosing a buyer is always the seller's decision.

If anything ever feels unsafe, or a serious concern comes up in person or outside the app, tell a trusted adult right away and contact local authorities. In an emergency, call 911. Reporting a listing to us is for site issues; it is never a substitute for real help.

Watch out for scams

Most people here are neighbors and classmates, but scammers exist on every marketplace, so shop like it. Never send money in advance to hold or reserve an item, and never pay by gift card, wire transfer, or to a stranger's account for someone else. Be suspicious of deals that seem too good to be true, of anyone in a big hurry, of overpayment stories (sending you extra money and asking for change back), and of payment confirmation screenshots, which are easy to fake. Pay only in person, after you have seen the item, in the way you and the seller agreed. For tickets, verify the details before any money changes hands. If someone makes you uncomfortable or tries any of this, stop responding and report them to us.

Your contact choices

Sellers choose how buyers may reach them. Choosing a direct contact option means the selected username is displayed publicly on that listing, and requires confirmation that a parent or guardian has given permission. The recommended platform option keeps usernames private. Details are in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Reporting and enforcement

If you see a listing or behavior that seems wrong, report it using the report option on the listing or through the Contact Us page. We review every report.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to reject or remove any listing and to block any person from posting or inquiring, including anyone who breaks our Community Rules, ignores our safety guidelines, misrepresents who they are, impersonates a student or another person, or is not actually a current high school student. Keeping this community safe always comes first, and our decisions about listings and access are final.

Our responsibility, honestly stated

We run this shop with care and good intentions, but it is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, TriValley Girls Porch Shop and its team are not liable for the condition, quality, pricing, authenticity, or availability of any item or service posted, for the conduct of buyers or sellers, for how any sale or purchase is coordinated, or for anything that happens in transactions, communications, or meetups arranged between users. Listings are the responsibility of the people who post them. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the shop grows; the date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the update. These terms are governed by California law. Questions are always welcome at trivalleygirlsporchshop@gmail.com or through the Contact Us page.
