Who we are

TriValley Girls Porch Shop is a porch community marketplace where high school students buy and sell pre-loved items. It is operated by Product-9, LLC, doing business as TriValley Girls Porch Shop, and run by a small admin team. We built this site for teens, so protecting your information is the heart of how it works, not an afterthought.

What we collect

When a seller posts an item: first and last name, school (or college, or community member status), grade, email address, Instagram or Snapchat username, the item details and photos, an optional porch photo, and her choice to appear by first name or by her assigned Seller Number. When a buyer sends a private inquiry: first name and last initial, school, email address, the usernames the buyer chooses to share, and a short message. When a seller marks an item sold, she tells us the final price and the buyer's email or Buyer Number so we can send the buyer a thank you email and a review invitation. When a buyer writes a review: the star rating, the review text, and the school she chooses to sign with; the review is shown with that school or her Buyer Number, never her name. When anyone uses the Contact Us form: name, email, and the message. If a seller creates a My Porch login, her password is stored only in a securely scrambled form that no one, including our team, can unscramble, and temporary passwords are delivered by email. If a seller chooses an optional paid promotion, the payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own secure checkout pages; we never see or store card numbers, and we receive only confirmation that a payment happened and what it was for. When a renter sends a rental request, she shares a Venmo or Zelle payment handle; that handle is shown only to the item's owner, and only after the owner approves the request. It is never displayed publicly and is used for nothing else. We never ask for and never store home addresses, phone numbers, birthdates, card numbers, or government IDs.

Some conveniences live only on your own device, never on our servers: saved items (hearts), the list of items you already inquired about, and the details the post and inquiry forms remember to fill in for you next time. Clearing your browser data removes them. Logging in to My Porch with Remember me checked places one small cookie on your device, for up to 30 days, so you stay logged in. It identifies your porch and nothing else, and logging out removes it.

To understand how the shop is doing, we count page visits in aggregate: which pages were viewed and how many times, by date and general time of day. We also count, in aggregate only, the general source of visits (for example a shared link, Instagram, or a search engine), the approximate city visits come from, and how many times sponsor offers are viewed and tapped. These counts contain no names, emails, IP addresses, or device details, no individual visitor is identified or stored, and we use no advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Because we use no trackers, the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. Sponsor contact details shared with us for coordination are stored privately and used only to work with that sponsor.

What is public and what stays private

A live listing shows the item, its photos, the price and details, the seller's first name (or her Seller Number if she chose to stay anonymous), and her school, college, or community tag. Each seller also has a porch page showing her live items, how many items she has sold, her Top Seller badge if earned, her optional porch photo, and admin-approved reviews. Last names, grades, and seller email addresses are never shown publicly, ever. Reviews show only the school the reviewer chose to sign with, or her Buyer Number, never a name or email.

Each seller chooses how buyers may contact her. With the recommended platform option, no usernames appear on the listing at all: the listing is effectively anonymous beyond a first name and school, and buyer inquiries are delivered privately. A seller may instead choose to display her Instagram or Snapchat username; that happens only when she deliberately selects a direct contact option and confirms, with her parent or guardian's permission, that the selected username will be visible on the listing.

Buyer inquiry details are shown only to the seller of that item and to the admin team. They are never public.

How we use information

We use the information above to run the marketplace: reviewing every submission before it goes live, showing approved listings, delivering buyer inquiries to sellers, replying to messages, and keeping the community safe (for example, keeping a blocklist of accounts that broke the rules). Email is used to notify sellers of inquiries and to answer messages. That is all. We do not sell or rent anyone's information, we do not run advertising, and we do not use it for anything unrelated to the shop.

Changing your privacy choices

Sellers can change how a listing shows contact information at any time, either directly from their private manage page (making a listing more private applies immediately; showing a username requires the seller's recorded confirmation) or by using the Contact Us page and choosing the topic Change My Listing or Privacy Settings. An admin reviews every request. Admins can make a listing more private immediately, but will never make a username publicly visible without the seller's documented permission. You may also ask us to correct or delete your information or remove a listing entirely. Sellers can request their porch be taken offline or their profile be deleted at any time from their private seller link, and our admin team handles every request.

How long we keep things

Listings automatically leave the shop after 7 days. Records of submissions and inquiries are kept privately so we can answer questions, enforce our rules, and keep the community safe, and are deleted when no longer needed or upon a verified request. The platform stores only the initial inquiry between a buyer and seller. Conversations that continue on Instagram, Snapchat, or email, and any payment or meetup arrangements, happen outside the platform and are never stored by us.

For parents and guardians

This site was designed for current high school students who are at least 13 years old and have permission from a parent or guardian; college students and local community members may also post items, clearly tagged. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and would like to review or remove your teen's information, email trivalleygirlsporchshop@gmail.com and we will take care of it promptly.

Children under 13

This site is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Everyone must confirm they are at least 13 years old before entering. If we ever learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information and remove any related listings promptly. This is how we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has used this site, please email trivalleygirlsporchshop@gmail.com right away.

Where information lives

The site runs on trusted, widely used services: our database and photo storage are hosted by Supabase, the website is hosted by Vercel, email is sent through Resend from our own shop address (with our Gmail account as a backup), and optional paid promotions are processed by Stripe. Access to private information is limited to the admin team through a protected admin area.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, note it on the site. Continuing to use the shop after a change means you accept the updated policy.
